Do The Clippers Have A Chance?
With Chris Paul back on the floor, and the Suns being up 3-1, do the Clippers have a chance? During this blog I will examine both teams to determine if the Clippers have a chance in winning this series headed into game 5.
The Clippers have outplayed the Suns in every single game of the series, yet are down 3-1. The reason that the Clippers are in this situation is because of their choking, and no, I am not just talking about Paul George.
Every single game so far in the series has been a very close game up until the wire, as you see from the highlights. But you also see the Paul George and Demarcus Cousins free throws, which has caused a lot of pain for Clippers fans. The refs give the Clippers so many chances to win in the final minute of the game through free throws, yet the Clippers end up messing up somehow.
During game 1 and game 4 Paul George had free throws in the final minute, yet missed all of them. Paul George has been the best player on the floor no matter the team from the beginning of the first quarter, till the last minute of the fourth quarter, which just isn’t enough. Not to mention Demarcus Cousins terrible fail of a stunt at the end of game 4 when he tried to bounce the ball back to him after a free throw, but not hitting the rim. In order for the Clippers to win game 5, they need to keep playing well through the last minute.
Not only have the refs been favorible to the Clippers, the Suns have been playing down right bad! Now I am not talking about the Sun’s entire team, because calling Deandre Aytons play badly is immensely disrespectful. As for Chris Paul and Devin Booker, they have been playing bad. Two reasons for Devin Booker’s bad play is ofcourse his broken nose, and the person defending him, Patrick Beverly. Regarding Chris Paul, he has no excuse. Chris Paul needs to step up in game five to guarantee a series win for the Suns.
Game five will be very close, but the Sun’s do have the home court advantage. If the Clippers play their usual basketball from the beginning of the first quarter till the end of the game, (not 1 minute left in the 4th quarter) they will win. As regards for the Suns, they just need Devin Booker and Chris Paul to step up and play their usual, regular season ways. With all this said, I believe the Suns will win game 5 and move on to the finals.
