Drake Vs. Kanye; Who Will Win?
Last Friday, Trippie Redd dropped the completed version of his fourth studio album, “Trip At Knight”. Why is that important? Trippie added a song, “Betrayal” with Drake as the feature. During Drake’s verse on the song, he stated “Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go
‘Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone”. This line obviously referring to Kanye West’s age, 44, and the fact that many are speculating Drake will not drop “Certified Lover Boy” until Kanye drops “Donda” because “Donda” will be taking some streams away from Drake’s album.
Kanye took this line personally, going to Instagram posting a picture of a group chat including Drake, Pusha T, and Virgil Abloh, and four others. Kanye had some choice words for Drake and said “You Will Never Recover” referring to a song that Drake was featured on in 2018.
Virgil Abloh, artistic designer for Louis Vuitton and owner of Off White, and seemingly the only known neutral party in that group chat was the person being referred to when Kanye Said “Where my green watch”. In 2020, Virgil designed Drake a green Patek Philippe which obviously made Kanye mad.
If you don’t know who Pusha T is, he is Kanye’s main henchman. He is a rapper himself but is mainly in the spotlight due to his hatred for Drake. He even went as far as telling the world about Drake’s then-secret child, Adonis, during a diss track against Drake.
