Future of the Bucks
Today I will be discussing the future of the Bucks. As of June 8th, the Bucks are down 2-0 to a Nets team playing without James Harden. The two problems the Bucks are facing are can Giannis play with another superstar, and their bench depth.
The Bucks are similar to the Clippers in the fact that both teams are top heavy and their benches are complete trash, which is why they do not succeed in the playoffs. When you think about the Bucks you immediately think of Giannis, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday but who’s after them? Brook Lopez is solid but the bucks are paying their top three too much to have a bad bench besides one or two players.
Now can Giannis play with another superstar? Time will tell. I believe when the Bucks lose the series to the Nets, the Bucks will go through some major changes during the off season. Khris Middleton will be traded most likely with a bundle of other players for another superstar player like Russell Westbrook or Bradley Beal. No matter who comes to the team, Giannis will stay the number one scorer so the only possible way the Bucks get better in this situation is if they get a pass first guard similar to Chris Paul.
If I were the Bucks, I would clean out the house. I would trade basically every player on the team except Giannis and other young players on cheap contracts for draft picks around the year 2023. This rebuild would work because Giannis is still 26 years young and he’s not getting any worse in the years to come. By the time the players from the 2023 draft picks start to blossom, the Bucks will be in serious title contention.
I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on the future of the Bucks.
